Reporting to the Supervisor of Outdoor Operations, you will provide general labour support to the network operations team and assist the full-time staff for a 4-month Summer Term (May – August 2025).
DUTIES:
- Assist the Technicians during the operation of Lakeland Networks equipment, including vibrational plows, mini excavators, directional drills, etc.
- Operation of tools and equipment.
- Heavy lifting and mobility/flexibility are required.
- Ensure job sites are maintained in a safe manner (trenches fenced off, holes covered, proper traffic control, etc.)
- Assist in reading and following locates and locate underground utilities.
- Restore lawns and areas disturbed to previous conditions or better.
- Must be able to work safely following all Regulations, company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively and safely in a team setting.
- Perform other duties, including yard maintenance and maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in or is a student in College or University. Secondary School Students are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge and/or experience in telecommunications maintenance, operation and theory is an asset.
- Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sufficient physical strength and health to manually move material.
- Must have a valid Class “G” driver’s license.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and in a team setting.
- Able to work flexible hours Monday – Friday.
